Hospitality and Domestic workers are among the most underpaid and exploited in NZ.

Sadly, most workers in these industries will at some time suffer from wage theft, sexual harassment or bullying.  Worse still is that they are far less likely to pursue litigation, normally because of a perception that it's 'not worth it'.

The truth is, exemplary damages in these cases is often higher than the worker would normally expect to make in a year, and their example can serve to further protect their workmates from exploitation.
